Hi

Does anyone know of an easy way of converting .dxf files into Gerbers? It would be useful for a forthcoming CQ-TV article.

Hi Dave

First hit in Google suggests Autocad which I assume you considered and rejected given the price - there is a 30 day free trial.

There is a thread on the KiCad forum https://forum.kicad.info/t/how-to-conve ... er/15445/8 - I am not sure this help. Also found several utilities on Github.

I have some commercial PCb progs that will import dxf files and then should be able to make gerbers.

If you like to email me with them I will have ago.

Dave if you are doing what I think you are doing be aware that when our PCB designer tried to import the NXP .dxf files he lost some of the layer information (and had to reconstruct the PTH information). I also had a similar problem when I used both Eagle and KiCad.

How complex is the PCB?

If it's not too complicated I'm happy to redo it for you. I use Easy-PC version 22.0.6
