Summer Fun ATV Activity..... 12/13th June

Post by M0DTS » Sun Apr 25, 2010 4:00 pm

Hi All

Once again i thought i would put a post up to see who's going to be active for the Contest on 12/13th June..

If all goes as planned there will be a few stations active in the North East over the weekend equipped with 70/23/13/3cm bands.. It would be great to have some other stations active within range.
I'l post more information about our locations closer to the time.

I will be active from one of the sites on the North York Moors, Probably IO94MJ this time but bot 100% sure yet.
QRV on:
144.750+/- Talkback VERTICAL pol
70cm Analogue and Digital TX/RX
23cm Analogue TX, Analogue/Digital RX
13cm Analogue TX/RX
3cm - undecided.
may have 3.4GHz RX too.

Hope some more stations can be active this year, it would be great to have a few qso's whether you participating in the contest or not.
Please let others know the date of the activity as every year i hear a few stations say 'i didn't know there was going to be anyone on!'

Please post a message on the BATC forum or on UKATV yahoogroup about your activity plans...

Hope to see you soon!

Rob

I'm hoping to be on from the site I failed to get to a few weeks ago, with 23cm analog TX/RX and digital RX.

I spoke to a backpacker over the weekend and he said the track to the top isn't as good as it used to be and you need a key for the gate, so I still need to do a reccy.

Even Superman has commented on one of the other topics!... he would be useful for holding the antenna in the sky....hihi

Just some addidtions to the list i have had contact with..

Mike G0DPS and Dave G4TIW should be active on Saturday 12th June from IO93AP with 23/13/3cm 1pm onwards.
John G0ATW said there should be a group active from nr Scunthorpe on most bands too.
Pat G4EKD has mentioned he should be out with others to some high site in Derbyshire, not sure which days or bands yet.
Chris M0YZA said he should be qrv from home in Sheffield with most bands and no doubt Bob G7AVU will be on too nr Lincoln.

Lets hope there is more to come......looking good so far! where are all the southern stations??!!

I will compile a list a few days before the weekend and circulate that to keep everyone up to date.

I will be active from North West London.
I will try to encourage the locals, Herts., Beds., Bucks., Surrey etc. to come on also.
Much more activity on 70cm Digital down here now, so that may help.
Most people are active on 23cm, 13cm and 3cm receive.
(I may even get my mast up by then!)
Dave.

To confirm the Grimsby crowd will be on for both days from Elsham Wold just South of the Humber bridge in NE Lincs

We will have 18w on 23cm, 30w on 13cm and 15w on 70cms as well
Antennas we will see about on the day.

We are also taking some DATV receiving kit with us to see if we can see Rob on 23 and 70cm as well.

Depending on time and if any of us gets the kit built we may even try and dabble in 3cm as well but thats a long shot at the moment.
Possibly thats one for Septemebr.

Cheers
