Hi all, I have a WCDMA amplifier which I purchased at the flight refuelling rally. It show be capable of producing about 200watss at 2401MHz once modified. I'm familiar with SMA connectors but am trying to find out what this connector is for the input of the amplifier. The picture shows a connector I have on a short piece of rigid coax that plugs into the amplifier. I think it might be a MMCX but it doesn't quite look the same plus most connectors are male and this is a socket with a pin. I would like to use a adaptor to convert it to a SMA female socket. Can anyone identify this please ? The idea is to use a ADALM Pluto with a small amplifier to drive the WCDMA amplifier. I have the Adalm Pluto producing a good picture in the shack at the moment.

Darren,
If it is standard semi-rigid co-ax (3.58mm diameter) it might be easier to cut it off and fit the connector of your choice, thus eliminating a potentially lossy adapter.

Hi Shaun, yes that is an option. It would be nice to know what the connector is though incase I loose the semi rigid cable. I have added a picture if the amplifier incase anyone else picked one up at the rally. The guy had quite a few which was selling well.

I bought one of those amplifiers too. Unfortunately I don't know what the connector is and like Shaun suggested I'm going to swap it for an SMA.

I wonder if you have found this site for the mods to the amp? Google translate is your friend...hi

Hi Malcolm,

Yes I found that site and used the google translate. Mods look straight forward. May have to replace an sma socket just need to find one deep enough to go through the metalwork.
