dg0ve amp design

I note the dg0ve circuit in GW0KAX's post elsewhere on this forum
https://www.dg0ve.de/en/index_htm_files ... 017_01.pdf
Roberto applies 3V to the input pin of what I guess is a Mitsubishi module
The data sheets indicate that the input to a Mitsubishi module is capacitor coupled
Could someone please set me straight on what Roberto is achieving with the 3V to the input pin

The datasheet is very confusing. On the rhs it shows two pot adjusted gate supplies, one on the gate pin, one on the AMP input. On the lhs it shows putting 12v directly on the gate pin. Without seeing inside to know for sure, it may be a module and a discrete device?

Just a point to note in case people have not seen it else where but unfortunately Roberto DG0VE died suddenly last week - a great shock as he has done a lot of good things for the amateur community and as I understand it, he was only in his late 40's.

Yes It's a tragic turn of events. I was reading some tributes from his Funkfreunde in German over the weekend as there's no clue from the company website about his death.
I wrote an email asking if the Band pass filter for 23cm is available. I didn't expect a reply nor today's packet from Germany. I have a shiny BPF and an invoice signed A Norbert of Roberto Zech Electronik. So I guess his company is still trading. I wish them well.

Since dg0ve sadly went silent key is anybody continuing his legacy?
A google search reveals very few links.
