146.5 Mixer to 437

Post by G8DKC » Wed May 24, 2017 8:40 am

Having a chat a while back, inspiration struck.

E.g. you have a repeater with 437Mhz RBTV input, would like to add 146.5, same Symbol rate and Fec.

Extra mini Pc / Pc running Tutioune, makes for more things to go wrong, video switching etc.

The mixer uses the ADF4351 board with one of Ron's G7DOE controllers on top with Pic programmed to 209.5Mhz,

from there to MCL PLP-300 low pass filter, into a mixer with RF in and IF out, nothing has to work above say 500Mhz.

I have played with lots of filters from China and other sources, waiting for Saw filters to arrive for further experiment.

But I was surprised how well this simple circuit works, without tidying up all the unwanted components from the mixer.

Parts in picture ADF4351 Ebay, Ron's Pic controller, (Correct Reg and Caps now fitted!), RMS-11 on board Ebay,

MCL PLP-300 low pass filter Ebay.

I have similar SMD devices that would reduce size on a DIY board.

Tutioune set to 437, various combiners tested to combine 437 from 146.5 mixer and 437 inputs, again only need go to 500Mhz.

Played with L.O, input, RF levels and creating interfering signals etc. just a little more development needed.

But worth trying.....

Next.... DTX-1 on 437, with latest firmware Tx 146.5?
