G3PYB - silent key

Post by g8gtz » Fri Jan 08, 2016 4:34 pm

It is with great sadness that I have just heard that, following a heart attack on Boxing day, Peter G3PYB and our BATC president passed away at about 2pm today.

He was a dear friend, an inspiration to us all and will be sadly missed.

Our thoughts are with Sandy his wife and family at this time.

Regards

Noel

Indeed, Peter was certainly inspirational and a friendly mentor, and oracle, in helping my DATV understanding down at Collingwood, which then inspired GB3JT so to encourage ATV activity in East Sussex and Kent.

A sad loss and end to the day for many, my sympathy and heartfelt condolences to Sandy and family.

Peter and my own stint in BATC committee didn't quite overlap but I did have the pleasure of meeting with him on several occasions. His enthusiasm and expertise, together with his seemingly limitless ability to help to others was inspirational and will be greatly missed. My sincerest condolences to his family.

Peter's funeral service will be held on Sat 6th February 2016, 10.45am at The Oaks Havant Crematorium, Bartons Road, Havant, Hampshire. PO9 5NA.

I have been asked by the family to say a few words on behalf of the ATV community and we are putting a booklet / card together with all the kind messages we have received - if you have any particular memories / words you would like to have included please let me have them ASAP.

We are also putting together a 5 minute video of Peter’s ATV memories which will be played during the service at the crematorium and we are looking for clips / pictures of Peter that you would like to see included in the ATV community’s tribute to celebrate Peter’s life.

If you require more details, please contact me directly.
