Mini ATV expedition to Exmoor
I am planning to go out /p to Dunkery Beacon on Exmoor (just above Minehead) next week.
I will active on site on from 2pm Tuesday afternoon staying until 9pm (depending on condx) and most of Wednesday from 9am with the following bands:
146 MHz - 333 Ksymbols Tx and RB-TV RX = 9 element yagi and 5 watts
437 MHz - 24 watts "Normal" DATV transmit (SR systems down to 1 Msymbol) and RB-TV / DATV rx. Antennae = 19 ele tonna with ADM feed and mast head pre-amp.
23cms - 10 watts ATV transmit and maybe rx. 8 watts DATV tx in to 25 ele yagi with mast head pre-amp.
Talkback via 144.750 vertical and 9 element horizontal yagi plus dxspot (preferred) or mobile 07881914287 (if it works).
The site at 400+ mts ASL has excellent take off and can see horizon in all directions (except west, cos I can't get to the very top) and the aerials will be at 25ftish.
Several people, including G4CPE,G8DKC and G3PYB have indicated they will be on and the aim is of course to restore a bit of southern pride on 146 MHz!
Happy to set up scheds or if you think you may be available, just post here.
Best 73 and hope to work you
Noel

Also 437Mhz 100W 1M/S 1/2 FEC TX RX, Wednesday down to Dassett Hills North west of Banbury same kit,
with John M1CNJ on 23cms ATV TRX and Digital RX, John will be at Dassett on Tuesday as well.

Re: Mini ATV expedition to Exmoor
Hello Noel!
The Bristol Group are planning a combined effort to operate /P at Tog Hill, IO81TK, map ref. ST732727, 210m asl. This is about 5 miles North of Bath and 3 miles South of M4 Jct.18. We will aim to be there by 2.00pm Tuesday. We should have RB-DATV reception only on 146.5 & 437MHz, as well as conventional bandwidth.
73 Shaun.

Re: Mini ATV expedition to Exmoor
Well despite problems with the Land Rover which are now fixed (we suspect Northern Terrorist activities attempting to sabotage the mission ) I will be on Exmoor tomorrow afternoon - talkback on 144.750 vertical FM and 144.170 SSB horizontal, DXspot and mobile phone.
Hope to work some of you on 146 MHz

Hello Noel,
I will be active after 6pm on Wednesday 12/08 on 437MHz using DVB-S and 2000Ks
QTH Locator IO81FM: so about 2miles North of Bridgend in South Wales.
Only problem I have is that I can only use Vertical Polarisation, a 70cm Beam is an ongoing project....
I'll be using a V2000 Colinear at 20Metres AGL, QTH is 70m ASL.
ERP will be about ~120W

Re: Mini ATV expedition to Exmoor
Hello Noel,
Had my 437MHz System radiating DVB-S on 437MHz between 17.45 BST and 18.20 BST and I also called you on 144.750MHz.
Didn't receive any response, checked Dxspot as well.
DG0VE Amplifier worked perfectly for the duration with IP performance well in Spec
