Things ae looking up

Post by G8DGR » Sun Aug 31, 2014 3:57 pm

Something amazing happened on Saturday. Would you believe a pileup on GB3HV.
They called it a QSO party and it seemed to originate from Australia.
It was more of what I would call a net.
It only lacked a Net controller to list stations calling in and then give them each a turn.
Whilst I am no fan of ATV repeaters on the internet those who cannot possibly receive direct may be excused.

Along with the normal Tuesday evening activity night that's quite a lot of ATV.
I monitor GB3HV as I'm retired and at home. Normally I have it to myself and send out a picture or two on 1248Mhz and 437hz plus CQ every couple of hours.

Two years from now there should be a geostationary satellite with two dedicated amateur channels.
Up on 13cms and down on 3cms and it will relay TV.
