Rules of touching Transmitting Equipment

Hi Everyone,

My licensed partner tells me not allowed to press buttons when he is running any ATV transmission chain. I do not yet have a license of my own. Is he just telling me this to stop me fiddling with stuff. I seem to be allowed to pan the camera and also help when carrying stuff.

Hi Sue and welcome to the forum

ATV runs on rules written for Amateur radio, "so are you allowed to pan the camera when it is on air", I would put it down as a grey area as panning cameras does not happen in radio.
I always think grey area's are best left as just that grey area's. If we ask for some rules we might not like what we get.
Keep regulations down to an absolute minimum, that way common sense can be in charge
