Hi all, i recently bought one of these units with the intent of 70cm rx, opened up the case and it doesn't look at all like the ones i have seen converted, the ones shown are sup2400 IF02 but mine is sup2400 IF01, just wondering if anyone has converted one of these before i start to warm the iron up, cheers,Andy G3OS

here's a few photos, as you can see the differences are small but make the conversion from the article impossible

before i start messing about with it i was wondering if anyone had already modified this version. Speaking to another amateur earlier this evening he opened his unit up to see which model he has and his is IF03 so it appears there are several versions of this unit, cheers, Andy

Hi Andy,

I've checked and all the remaining BATC shop stock is rev 02 - if you bought from the shop, we'll replace it FOC.

Just by the visual difference i could imagine that the EI9FHB version of the mod on my site would work, i doubt they would have changed LO frequency!

For my version of the mod (for better sensitivity on it's own - no preamp) you could connect antenna input just at the 'T' of components (to the left of the Cap) under where it says 'IF-01' on the board, need to remove the two resistors to the left of the cap thats all.
The dc 5v connection on the underside is slightly different but you can just put a wire straight from the regulator o/p to the cap at center right of the logic chip.

Might be worth a try if someone has one lying about..
