"Eco" Repeaters - Any experience?

GB3GG is due to be rebuilt as the Landlord has decided an electric meter would be a good idea as part of the lease re-negotiations
that are going on between the room owner and the local club.

The old GG pulled 500w... That's far too many KWh for our meagre funds.

We are cutting the system down to it bare esentials so we can keep an affordable system running

There is a new "eco-logic" being designed but do any of you guys have any experience of watt saving measures.

Cheers

Hi Lee,

Have you analysed the system to see where that power is going? I would assume most of it is used in the power stages and you may be able increase the efficiency of that part of the system with a more modern design. I do wonder if you'll save much by rebuilding the control system, but if it's all TTL then I guess you might save a bit by using a low power microcontroller.
