Ahoy there....

Post by mw6dav » Sun Sep 28, 2008 4:57 pm

Hi, i'm new here.

I've never done anything with television before apart from Watch it, I have been interested in it for a long time which probably extends from my dad being in BATC.

I'm not sure where to begin so advice would be appreciated.

One final point, i have a monitor from a cheap CCTV set, receives on 2.4Ghz from a wireless camera (camera died). Is it of any use or shall i consign it to the bin?

Hi dave

Your 2.4GHz monitor would probably be good for atv but will need to be made to tune other frequencies than the channels it has at present and an external antenna would need to be fitted to get any distance if there is a 2.4GHz repeater in the local area... check ukrepeater.net
A few of us have used them to receive GB3KM on the 3 channel versions with only a replacement sound filter, as it happens channel 2 of 3 is 2.440GHz the same frequency as our repeater.
It may not be the case for your receiver.
