Can anyone recommend a small LCD-style monitor that can be used for portable ATV. Having revamped my
kit the current one I use blue screens when it doens't get a valid signal - this means it is difficult to dig a distant
signal out of the noise which might have been obvious in the days of CRTs.
Many thanks. Ian G8XZD

Re: portable monitor for ATV
Without knowing the precise model you are using (this is just a shot in the dark) many models, both LCD and CRT, will have an option somewhere in the setup menu that will allow you to turn off the bluescreen. It might be worth having a dig around in there.
Re: portable monitor for ATV
I can switch the blue screen off but get a black one instead. It is as if there's a video squelch on the TV until the input is perfect. It seems to be a common feature with LCDs. Surely others have this problem - am happy to buy something new.
Re: portable monitor for ATV
I use a 7" LCD when portable, it is made by 'Inventive'. It's about 3 years old now so may not be available anymore, it has no model number on it anywhere.
It works well on weak DX signals, i have not found another once since that does not have the noise squelch!
The only other option is to use a Time Base Corrector but not tried it here.
