Hi Mark

I wonder if the image you are sending is incompatible with IPTS. The first test to do is a local loopback and see if you can monitor it with VLC. There are all sorts of reasons it might not work with IPTS input but first it is good to test if it is working locally.

Incidentally, why are you using the Portsdown IPTS? I take it you don't have a Pluto but a Lime SDR?

Hi Mike,
You were obviously typing as I posted, the VLC test shows the image from OBS no problem.

Hi,

instead of using OBS, I am using an old WD mediaplayer with the content to be streamed on an USB stick.

Encoder (H.264/H.265) is also in separate hardware, so no need for a PC

Yes. Seems so. The problem is probably in the network then. Again, how do you know it is not working? Accepted it does not display on the PD4 screen, that could be due to several causes, but does it actually transmit? We need to break this down into stages to work out where the problem, if there is one, is.

Hi Mike,

I have troubleshooted it the best way I know, through elimination. P4 on the pi will display the connected C920 webcam if I select M2 C920 Monitor. P4 will stream a Test Card OR Webcam to BATC/G1INU. OBS will display an image to VLC on the same PC when I start the virtual webcam in OBS. OBS will even stream an image direct to BATC/G1INU. The one thing I can’t get the setup to do is get the image from OBS via FreeStreamCoder to display on the PI4 Touchscreen when I touch the Portsdown4/M2/IPTS button.

OK - but I don't recall getting that to work either as I was using H265. Perhaps it is all working perfectly except that display? Go back to basics and send it some low resolution H264. Also important to send to the correct port, that's 10000 I think.

I have been using H264 on both the Portsdown Settings and the FreeStreamCoder settings. I am holding off reporting it as a potential bug because in my mind it is still more likely to be operator stupidity on my part than something in the coding.
