OFCOM:
Short notice, short duration licences in the lower 2.3 GHz band
We have also today opened a consultation on introducing short notice, short duration licences for outdoor and indoor use in the 2320-2340 MHz band.
Under these proposals, the Programme Making and Special Events and Shared Access communities (and other users wishing to deploy a short duration network in spectrum supported by mobile technology) would be able to rapidly secure a licence to use this spectrum on a short-term basis. This
provides further support for innovative new spectrum users, and could open up opportunities to use mobile technologies (e.g. 4G and 5G) for news gathering and broadcast of major events
We welcome feedback on these proposals by 2 September.

Re: ofcom consultation 2320-2340mhz
Interesting. Best not object as this type of PMSE use is helping in keeping the band available for us as well, rather than it going over to mobile entirely.

Re: ofcom consultation 2320-2340mhz x2
An other consultation on 2320-2340mhz has been announced by OFCOM. Fees for shared access
Notice of draft regulations for proposed changes to fees for certain Shared Access spectrum licences
Spectrum
Ofcom has today opened a consultation on our proposed amendments to the Wireless Telegraphy (Licence Charges) Regulations 2020 (the 2020 Regulations) to reflect two Ofcom policy decisions about certain types of Shared Access Licences.
In December 2024, we decided to make a new frequency band (2320-2340 MHz) available for Shared Access licences. Today’s proposed amendments to the 2020 Regulations would introduce fees for licences in this new band, in line with the fees for licences in other bands.
Also in December last year, following a consultation, we decided to raise the fee for Shared Access (Medium Power) licences in urban areas from £80 to £160 for channels up to 10 MHz. This is to ensure that spectrum is used as efficiently as possible. Today’s proposal would therefore also amend the 2020 Regulations to give effect to that decision.
No other types of Shared Access licences are affected.
We welcome comments on the proposals by 1 September 2025.
