3 CCD PAL camera (home made ?)

Hi All,

Firstly, any idea of the best bang-for-you-buck 3 CCD camera (maybe an older semi-pro cam-corder that will not close down after automatically, so will display video OK).

Secondly, home made...

Lots of low cost video projectors out there with a full set of dichroic filters and prisms. How about replacing the 3 x projecting LCDs with broad spectrum, monochrome CCD sensors (camera modules ?). Matrix + PAL encode should be straightforward, convergence will of course be interesting.

Thoughts, comments and abuse please...
