I wrote an article for my local OCARC club newsletter on the VK3RTV World-Wide DATV QSO Party. The event was held in late August to help celebrate 100 years of Amateur Radio Victoria helping to serve ham radio. Organized by Peter VK3BFG and others associated with the VK3RTV digital-ATV repeater, the QSO party allowed hams near Melbourne to participate directly by RF and hams in other parts of Australia, Thailand and the USA to relay their video to Peter VK3BFG by Skype video-connections. The article explains how to get a 1.2 GHz DVB-S signal in USA to be uplinked to the VK3RTV repeater in Australia in order participate in the DATV QSO Party.
The article is called:

The event was a success. Peter VK3BFG reported that he logged a total of 65 QSO’s including three VK3 portable DATV stations operating in the field and including 16 different hams from USA. The DATV QSO Party was great fun!
