Hi,.
Downloaded an installed SDR Television already had SDR Console 3.4 installed
All looked ok but program wouldn’t start.
Instructions said you must install both kits.
I did this from links provided SDR Television now started.
Install HEVC Video Extensions
Now receive the Beacon
Time to read the manual!

Thanks Simonn G4ELI for all your work!

Ditto, got it installed on both my desktop and my decent laptops. Beacon and my own 437 too. About 1dB less MER than my MT on the same splitter for the beacon. Quick to lock too :-)

TX now working!

Should have read the Manual.

“OBS-VirtualCam
obs-virtualcam is a plugin for OBS Studio , transforming the output video to a virtual DirectShow device. Note: This is not the same as OBS Virtual Camera, a different plugin!

Download from miaulightouch/obs-virtual-cam . Recommended version is 2.1.2.”

I have what looks like a crown on my signal (three humps).

CPU load is so low excellent work from Simon.

The crown is not specific to your status, it is because I think you are using a 2.304 MHz sample rate with a 333ks/s signal. If you go to 960kHz bandwith, it will go away. There seems to be something not quite right in the TX code.

Thanks Mike that fix it.

Stuttering On Picture

I had some stuttering on picture that wasn't there when I first started testing.
Looking at my OBS settings I have many profiles setup for different applications.
Selected the profile with correct settings for SDR Televisionall now OK.

Please share them if possible Martin, I wasn't aware of the concept let alone having more than one profile myself.....

A warning: when using the Pluto SDR, do not transmit with the drive level higher than -33.75dB!!

There's something odd in the level control because increasing the drive from -33.75dB to -30dB causes the output shoulders to jump by 10.8dB. The excessive regrowth might be because the Pluto has hit the threshold of non-linearity or there's something weird going on with the drive level steps. See the SA screenshots below, noting the Delta Marker levels.

-33.75dB Drive Level

-30dB Drive Level

The performance is likely to be different with other SDRs, but as the Pluto is the cheapest Tx option it is likely to be the most popular.

This is a beta software, so be careful and when using it on air and be patient. A huge amount of work has gone into this, so fixes might take a while.

Hi Clive,

Agree regrowth is normally caused by over driving, if you use a pluto or libresdr to transmit they both do it, think you are seeing that sdr television give a higher level output than obs for a fixed drive level, that is why I have a fixed attenuated output I have never seen it directly from my pluto it maybe a firmware issue on your pluto.
