There are some on ebay I placed some bids but I think the guy must want silly money for them as there is a reserve price :-(

I pushed the boat out and went up to £40 on the BSB ebay squarials.
far more than what I expected and wanted to pay and still the reserve was not met.

Lets hope some more come around at what I consider a sensible price.

Hi Nick,

Not sure if you are still looking for a squarial but I have a couple up in the loft if you are interested?

Hi Ron
Just seen this
Mum passed last week so you can imagine how I am feeling.
Amateur radio is not first on my agenda.

To answer the question yes..
Jens conversion works and I do have access to network analysers to investigate further.

Hi Nick

I'm sorry to hear about your mum. Yes, I know how you must be feeling right now and may I offer my condolences.

With regards the squarials, i'll pop up into the loft and get them down and dusted off for you. Get back to me at your convenience, I'll keep an eye on this thread every few days.

Hi Folks

In VK we have Satking promax (known as Selfsat in UK), caravaners (grey nomads) use them for outback TV
They are a horn array rather than a patch style antenna, a bit thicker, made from metalised plastic
I’ve removed a couple from Caravans that have been broken, but the panel intact
It turns out the panels are very wide band and lend themselves to 3cm experimentation

Encouraged by the Squarial experimentation, I popped an modified Avenger LNB on and it worked
Our LNBs are 11.7-12.75ghz, not as 3cm friendly as Dual Band European LNBs
Not the gain of a dish but wider beamwidth, also the AZ/EL doesn’t quite go to the horizon
No real noticeable gain difference from Ku to 3cm from the panel itself, which is around 600 x600mm

Cheers Roger VK5YYY
