Thanks for continually pushing the boundaries for and with us all.

It would be good, in my humble opinion, if someone could do a brief write up of how this new compression will affect DATV enthusiasts and what we will need to consider for its reception and transmission.

I believe currently there's no out of the packet solution to receive H266, short of us doing our own coding, or code modifications? That would be a step too far for me, so a Dummy's Guide of where this may go would help me, and maybe others, greatly.

Again thank you Dominique.

Hello

This new compression will reduce the video stream by 50% for the same quality and therefore the bandwidth occupied.
It is a future compression standard for 4K 8K television.
The first televisions equipped with a decoding chip should be released this year !
For the moment the H266 (VVC codec) only works in soft coding because there is not yet a graphic card which supports it.
CPU load goes from 60 to 100%
for the moment it is necessary to limit to a small flow and fps
The latency is about 15 seconds.
If you want to test in reception and give a report download the files below. You must unzip the folder on the desktop and if necessary modify the ip and the port in the .bat file to correspond to the udp output of the Minitiouner
and launch the .bat corresponding to the desired definition.

I also captured today, quality looked really good!

Although I used DVB GUI with the pluto, but its a pain in rear end for tuning :-) Will try MT next time.

Decodes are not very CPU intensive at all, and the results from low rates were excellent, I'm looking forward to Easy 2.17 to see how intensive Tx is, and how my PC copes. Thanks Dominique and beta testers!

I've found a version of MPV (similar to VLC) which has H266 support built in, it can be found here

https://github.com/MartinEesmaa/VVCEasy ... ag/v.1.0.1

To use create a shortcut on the desktop then edit the properties and add udp://:@192.168.1.105:4003 (edit with your IP) to the end of the target line so you end up with something like
C:\MPV.NET-VVCEasy-Windows-x64\mpvnet-vvceasy.exe udp://:@192.168.1.105:4003
