RF drive levels Datv Easy verses Portsdown 4

I have been upgrading OBS here and had a few issues so used my Portsdown 4 to check out a few things to try and identify where my issues were and I noticed the following.
Setup PC, OBS, Lime Mini, Datv Easy 2.15, driver amp and main PA
Portsdown 4, Lime Mini driver amp and main PA
It was noticeable that the Portsdown 4 setup was able to generate far more output power without issue than the PC setup.
I have tried an older version of DATV easy but power levels were the same as Datv Easy 2.15
Anybody else noticed this? I wonder if the author of DATV easy is being cautious with drive levels.

Hi Keith

It may be that DATV Easy uses a higher up-sampling level than Portsdown 4.

For DVB-S2, Portsdown uses 2 below 1MS and 1 above. Higher up-sampling levels give a cleaner signal, but lower power. They also require more processing power.

Hi Keith,
I have found no difference in O/P of my Pluto with DATV-Easy v2.15
My Pluto only has V0.33 firmware nothing else installed.
I found V0.33 gave more O/P than the latest which I think is V0.35
When I used the Pluto with Evariste F5OEO firmware 201 gave more O/P than 303.
I only use my Pluto with a PC Win 11.

Hi Martin

Have you seen the info from F1EJP regarding 2.15 and not to use it as bugs have been found and 2.16 will be released shortly.

My comment was my surprise at the power output between a Portsdown 4 and a PC based system using Datv Easy.

Dave G8GKQ has explained the likely differences between the two.

Hi Keith,
Yes I am aware of bugs in DATV-Easy V2.15.
I am using V2.15 with no problems for me.
There are always bugs in all programs looking forward to V2.16.
A big thankyou to Dominique F1EJP for all his hard work.
