Longmynd Client HELP

Post by G8KOE » Thu Nov 03, 2022 9:02 am

Hi,
I have just got a new Windows 11 64bit laptop and having problems to get Longmynd Client to work.
On my BT Hub network have my main PC running Windows 11 64bit and a separate laptop running Windows 10 both systems work.
I only use one connection at a time.
My new laptop is a Windows 11 64bit with VLC and Lonmynd Client installed.
Checking the firewall settings for VLC and Longmynd client I have both Public and Private selected to allow through the firewall.
When I run Lonmynd Client on my new laptop it shows connected but get no video.
I have tried udp://@:4003 in VLC with no luck.
Also have Winterhill software installed with QuickTune and they work.

Any help appreciated on what I have missed or should try.

Hi,
Update to my progress.
I have configured the Lonmynd Client to Multicast and all works on my laptop.
The problem has shifted to my main PC see pics.
The debug shows Status Output Websocket was closed by remote, this connects OK on my new laptop.
Next to find out what needs to be change on my main PC.

Slowly making progress!

Any help appreciated as I find it hard going but will get there.

Hi Tom,
No problem I have all the time and not the know-how.
My tired old eyes usually miss something.
Trial and error got me there.

Hi Martin,

I saw your websocket output was checked and if you do not have a websocket client on the specified adres you obvious get this debug error.

The debug shows Status Output Websocket was closed by remote.

It was made to get messages out the Longmynd client to an remote adres where in mycase a raspberry with node-red is using this message to send a telegram message to my phone containing a activity of a special pre selected call is on air...
Its a feature not many of you will use...

And try and error is a well know procedure to get everything working.. nobody likes to read the manual... :D

Hi Benno,
I was looking for the idiots guide in the manual but could not find it.

Now onto the next problem have two Pluto's one Rev B and a Rev C.
Rev C works with my USB to Network Adapter my Rev B is not even seen on network.

Network adapters usually need a 5V supply via a Y cable and some don't seem to be able to drive long cables. The firmware also needs to support it - there was a compatibility list on the AD website.

Hi Mike,
It is feed with a separate PSU via Y cable.
The Rev C Pluto works fine with no problem.
Rev B Pluto same setup not showing up on network.

Perhaps it is not compatible with the firmware you have installed then. Try a different adapter?
