I'm not sure if this has been reported before but something to look into..

The situation:
I have freestreamcoder running and sending TS to my pluto.
If i now close freestreamcoder without pressing stop (i know it's wrong but...) the window closes but the exe is still running in task manager.

Often i find out when i start up freestreamcoder again later and press start and it does not work until i press stop then start again.

Sometimes i have seen only the ffmpeg.exe remaining in task manager but not Aut2Exe, when this happens i have two streams being sent to the pluto so the tx is corrupt.

Hello M0DTS

Thank you for this feedback.
indeed it was an oversight in my code. This is fixed for the next version.
In the meantime, you have to actually exit with the exit button !

Small fixes:

- If you close freestreamcoder without pressing Stop, the window will close but the exe is still running in the task manager.
- Debug mode: If you add to the mem.ini file after START = 0 or 1 the variable VIEW = 1 You see the ffmpeg window to view the errors.

Hi Dominique,

A couple of weeks ago you very kindly sent me a note on the BATC QO-100 chat page to say that I had too many null packets. I have not been able to figure out what to do about this and I will be grateful if you can advise me please.
I am using OBS with the virtual camera plug-in, your Free Stream Coder V2.26 and F5OEO Pluto firmware. I cannot see any way to adjust the video rate as it is all done for me in your great Free Stream.

Best wishes,
Russ, G4SAQ

Hello Russ

you are the only one to report this problem.
If there is too much null packet it is certainly a difference in parameter setting between the pluto and FreeStreamCoder.
You should have less than 15% Check carefully:
Modulation, Symbol Rate, FEC and Pilot Symbol ?

Hi Dominique,

Thanks for your reply. I am now using Freestream Coder v2.78. I have the following settings: DVB-S2 QPSK Symbol rate 333 FEC 2/3 FEC Frame 64800 Codec H265 Image size 1280x720 Audio AAC 64 FSP 25

For Pluto I have PCR/PTS 800mS PAT 200mS DVBS2 333k/s Pilots off Rolloff 0.35 QPSK 2/3 Long Frame

The Null Packets are anywhere between 12% and 25%.

Your advice will be most useful, thanks.

Russ, you don't have too many null packets if it is 12%. 25% is a bit high but it depends on the picture content. If you are not moving, or showing a static image, then the nulls will increase, but as soon as you move they will reduce. 12% is good. Much lower and you will see overflows.
