There are several things that can cause that.Is OBS Virtual Camera working properly and running? Again, not the one built into the gui but the plugin? Simplify, diagnose, fix. Make sure the are no add ons like malwarebytes, Norton or a custom firewall. I expect the user must have admin rights as well.

For the record, FreeStreamCoder works fine on my laptop with NVIDIA and Software. Intel coder does not work even though it is a late model i7 CPU.

I'd be really happy to get it working. Yes the Virtual Camera plug-in works ok. I have no idea how to get you more information to help troubleshoot the issue, are there any debug logs that I can send.

I can get the green light to come on if I put it in IP input address mode but that is the only mode it will come on in. I don't have vMIX on the computer so I am limited to the OBS/Virtual Camera Plugin and the IP address. Don't have any idea what port to use on OBS other than setting up OBS to stream via the normal streaming output.

I've tried it with nothing more than just OBS and FSC loaded on the computer. Don't have another computer to load things on to eliminate the hardware on the ACER Predator HELIOS 300 with the NVidia 1660 ti graphics controller.

I'm open to suggestions on how to proceed from here to get the little red light to turn green on FSC when start is clicked using the hardware encoder.

I wish you had said that earlier. There is nothing wrong with the encoder. There is no port on OBS with the virtual camera. That option IP input from another source, e.g. an LKV or other machine.

It sounds like you do not have the OBS virtual camera plugin working or configured properly. How exactly did you install it? There should only be one virtual camera.

Installed it running the virtual camera plug in that was in the instructions, restarted computer and under tools have virtualcam showing. set for auto start and shows running. it's pointed at obs-camera in the drop down list.

I didn't mention the IP thing because I just discovered it while we were sending emails. Have the laptop camera being captured. Just removed it and tried again, still no red light on FSC. What else can I test the OBS Virtual Camera plug in with to see if it's running (other than the start/stop buttons on the plug-in having start disabled)

Also is it normal to have to restart the transmit on Portsdown 4 every time FSC is stopped and restarted?

I just removed and reinstalled Virtual Cam 2.0.5 and still no luck. Just on a chance I loaded VLC and tried opening a capture device to OBS Camera (where virtual cam plugin is mapped to) and VLC opens up.

I suggest you give up. Use a script.

I don't give up. I finally uninstalled the NVidia driver so there was only the Intel on it and now the hardware encoding is working on the Intel Unit.
