Free MER increase of part / whole dBs

Hi,
I just wanted to add, although we all really know, that you must keep all your connectors clean and grease free.
Why not use some Alcohol (or IPA) or meths and thoroughly clean each and every one.
I used a cotton bud that I had squeezed flat with pliers in order to get in between the inner and outer of a N-plug.
Its amazing what you get out. I feel I have achieved something, at least, by the oxide / muck I removed.
SMA - similar thing.
Judging by their size, DIN 7/16 could be put into a washing machine whole - just joking. These must be the easiest to clean.
I gained about 0.5 dB, and this cleaning is especially important on your PA cables as the slightest contact resistance increase is asking for trouble.
