H265 using Vmix and H265 encoder

Post by g8gtz » Thu Jan 09, 2020 9:15 am

I have just updated this wiki page with details on how to run Vmix directly in to Portsdown IPTS input.

https://wiki.batc.org.uk/Feeding_Video_ ... _from_vMix

It now includes an example script from Thomasz SQ6QV which is set to use an Nvidia GTX1060 graphics card and will produce high quality H265 video at 333 and 250Ks.

Thanks Noel,

With a bit of tweeking that works for me.
( still a bit magical though! Not like selecting the buttons on the Portsdown touchscreen. )

Glad it works.

Freddy ON1AVO sent me an email and said:
In the wiki you've updated the VMix2RPi part with a script from SQ6QV.
Particular "rem this next section is a caption generator that does not seem to work!"
I've changed hemi.ttf to C\:\\Windows\\Fonts\\ariblk.ttf because this original font isn't available in Fonts.
That change worked for me.

Could this system be used for running H265 with vMix (GTX 1050Ti graphics card) and into a Pluto using F5OEO Firmware? If anyone has done this then practical details would be appreciated please.

Thanks, John G3YQC
