Following the link on BATC facebook I've had success receiving my DATV signal through SDRangel. Real pleased that I found a use for my RTL Dongle.

Hi Steve,

Looks good - can you repost the link as not everyone is prepared to use Facebook - I only do it very reluctantly for a variety of reasons!

BTW - do we know if they have implemented Veterbi decoding - if so that makes it better than LeanDVB.

OK Noel here are some long links.

You need this download of SDRangel as it includes the DATV plugin.
https://github.com/f4exb/sdrangel/relea ... PH1Pf1wQTU

Here is the instruction video posted on YouTube by Corrosive. LOL
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb8S_J9 ... 4O0wPQCQSE

Below the video there is a batch file needed to set the path to ffmpeg. Note the path is C:/ffmpeg not the standard C:/ffmpeg/bin

The plugin does have Viterbi but it warns that it's processor hungry.

I had an issue with Corrosives batch file in that it did not seem to add c:\ffmpeg to the path.
Having just looked at the setx command I think it sets it in the registry which may then involve a system reboot.

Instead I just used the following command in a Dos/cmd window
set path=c:\ffmpeg;%PATH%
This puts it at the beginning of the path table.

Oh im using Win7 64bit.

Hope that helps
:)

I think someone re-posted one of my tweets about this as well as I just found it on Facebook. I was using this some time ago under Linux (e.g. https://mobile.twitter.com/TheRealMike/ ... 4192287744 ) but the significant difference now is that it works in the Windows distribution and seems to work much better. There are problems with the Gui for those of us with 4K displays but otherwise it's at last viable to do this sort of thing with Windows.

I did a cursory search for software that might work with the Lime SDR Mini. SDR Angel came up. Would this work with the receive port of the Lime? That would be really neat - digital TV receive up to 3.5GHz!

I have this working with my Pluto, I didn't have to run the batch file as ffmpeg was already installed for VMix.

I've recently uploaded a video explaining how to do this with the RTL-SDR and SDRAngel under windows. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bb8S_J9peD8

Hello,

Few days ago, with Evariste F5OEO, we have spend several hours doing receiving test with SDRAngel and a Pluto. We have not be able to receive a signal (SR250_78) less than 11/12dB over the noise. Same signal was received by Minitioune down to 6 or 7 dB over the noise.
Test were made with a signal sent from Evariste's home, 6km from my home.
Evariste was tweeking SDRAngel on my station using Teamviewer.

Has someone a better result?
