Hi Paul,
Don't know if I fully understand the process as yet but I'm re reading to try and get it all clear in my head before diving in. Just a suggestion but I think it would make a fantastic article for CQ-TV.

Good idea re CQTV - the problem is that I know virtually nothing about DATV! Its been a real struggle learning OBS / VMIX etc, but the RF side has been easier. The F5OEO stuff on the pluto is a dream to use, maybe I'll write it up particularly around the config and setup side, and some on the RF linearity issues with xPSK.

Paul, that's excellent work from both you and Evariste. I sympathise greatly as I can solder almost anything and love hot electrons (valves - not tubes!) but software and the like is witchcraft to me! The Pluto looks to be a good device for this application, I may eventually be brave enough to dip my toe.

I run OBS stream output with;

rtmp://1.2.3.4:7272/,2409.75,DVBS2,8PSK,333,12,
Pass : ,M0EYT,

to output 2409.75 MHz / 8PSK / 333ksps 1/2 rate fec

Very important to set OBS output streaming video bitrate to say 250Kbps so as not to overflow the pluto.

yes and no,
standalone solution but it needs only to receive encoded video and audio using RTMP or UDP protocol.

Does it need rtmp with OBS ?

You can use a smartphone to send the video+audio to the Pluto..
You can use a HDMI to IP H264 or H265 coder and send the stream using UDP
these 2 first solutions don't need any PC, Rpi or Jetson

You can use OBS or VMIX to encode in H264 and send the data using RTMP.

as you can set different SR you want, We could say that you set the video bitrate at about 70% of the SR bitrate.

Hi again Paul,
Well I've flashed Evariste's firmware to my Pluto and have downloaded OBS. Do I need to find an address (IP) for my Pluto somewhere or do I need to configure the Pluto first? I'm feeling my way around OBS settings and guess I've to set up a custom "service".

Did you install the Pluto IIO drivers already? If not install them from the Analog website. (Sorry, not as home to find address)

Then the Pluto will appear as a network with the IP address 192.168.2.1. you should be able to access it via a web browser and ping it etc.

If you have not done the mod to enable the second CPU, do so. Also do the mod to extend frequency range if you want to use it on 2m/4m/6cm.

At this stage, if you put 192.168.2.1 into a web browser the help page should appear (this is coming from the Pluto) and there are examples of how to set up OBS and VMIX given.
