I read the Art Towslee article in the latest mag with great interest.

The last paragraph in the article suggested that ideas etc should be through this forum. Unfortunately I can not find anything on this forum and search seems to believe that anything you search for is too common ??

Therefore I would like to say that I am very interested in this especially as it involves both the DATV-Express team and F6DZP (mini tune) both superb solutions.

I am very interested in the new tuner board for DATV as I am looking for an RX for a RB TV Repeater (333Ksymb or less) and this looks like good solution. And if the software could for the new tuner can interface to the DATV Express software so that you can more or less produce an operationall repeater with little or no additional hardware.

By the way if the board makes it to production, I want two

Thanks
Regards
Terry

I was speaking to Art yesterday during our monthly DATV-Express conference call about this subject.

As Jean Pierre F6DZP is the lead developer on the Super tuner project, I am sure he will
let us all know how work is progressing at CAT16. Alternatively you could check out his
website http://www.vivadatv.org/ for any of the updates he wishes to share with us.

Terry,
The CQ-ATV article was mistakenly published. It was a private post on F6DZP's web site not intended for the general public. However, now that you have comments, I feel I should respond. Yes, F6DZP and I are looking into the possibility of creating a tuner described in the CQ ATV article but it is only a discussion at this time. F6DZP is experimenting with software to see what is possible. If he is successful, we will possibly create a PCB assembly to incorporate it. The effort would be a non profit venture to benefit the International Space Station group with a better ground station receiver but it could also benefit the general DATV population.

We may announce a project sometime in the future if there is interest. If we do, we will post it on the Viva DATV and BATC forums. Stay tuned.
