Hello,

I had a dream....

A little PC with a Quad Core Atom that is powerful but need few power supply, with HD touchscreen (1280x800), Wifi, bluetooth, Ethernet, SD plug, 4 USB plugs, sound card, loud speakers, , that can run Windows 8 or Android , like a tablet but with all we can find on a PC laptop.
with a GPU that allows hardware decoding of Mpeg2, H264 and H265.
that will be a dream for my Minitiouner.

all that for less than 70£..

Yes that exist !

When I run Minitioune and receive H264, only 50% of CPU is working.

I have bought mine here:

(take care, ask 64GB model)

It looks very useful - I've ordered one.

Do you think there will ever be a version of MiniTioune for the Raspberry Pi?

IMHO, PIPO is less expensive than a (RaspberryPi + HD touchscreen + power supply + Wifi + bluetooth + audio card + stereo loud speakers + 64 GB + box ) and more powerful and more friendly usable. If we don't need the extra GPIO possibilities of the RaspberryPi, I definitively prefer a Pipo X8 for receiving.

I am developing a specific version of MiniTioune for PIPO, with bigger buttons and specific touchscreen possibilities.
Minitioune is now on the way to receive and decode the video.
As we have also some extra GPIO that are available on the minitiouner, other things could be done by PIPO.

I am thinking to build also a DATV transceiver using a PIPO X8 upgrade with a Box under it that will contain a minitiouner for RX and RaspberryPi for TX.
All command to RaspberryPI will be done by using the Touchscreen of PIPO, so we could have on PIPO a software that could do both works : receiving and transmitting. RaspberryPi will just be a hardware slave of PIPO.
All could be done using windows, linux will be invisible. :D

Yes it is a nice box, I guess I ought to order one 8-)

There is a small Windows application that I have written that takes a UDP transport stream and sends it to an Express board (no Linux)
a combination of that and Minitiouner would make a nice portable setup. Just need a webcam and some MPEGx encoders.

I see the price is going up. I think I will give it a miss given I have a laptop already.

it is on Amazon, but not at the same price.

Gearbest price seems not to have changed. If your order at Gearbest, choose shipping from Holland , no VAT no custom taxe. It takes 10 days to receive it in France.
