Hi. Looking for some pointers to be able to use the udp streaming facility of datv express software.
I had a look at charles' blog using vmix and the graph tried to replicate though i feel the encoders/multiplexer etc may be part
of a developer sdk or is it included as part of the installation process of some other programmer?
Alternatively could you take a video file and stream it using vlc?
Trying to get something going for a demo but cant go down the pvr150 route at the moment?
Or can anyone suggest another way?
As i said looking for some inspiration rather than step-by-step instructions.

Re: Streaming into datv express
Hello Ian,
The codecs I used came with WinTV 7 (which is shipped with the HVR1950). There are other open source ones available
but I have not tried them. Another alternative is to use ffmpeg to do the streaming a number of people have gone that
route.

Re: Streaming into datv express
Ok many thanks. Will have a look at ffmpeg. Need to workout how to stream from a file to the express board.
All new territory to get the head round but hey thats part of the fun.

Re: Streaming into datv express
Yes as you say lots of fun to be had. I have been looking at internet streaming kit videos on YouTube recently.
Still a bit pricey but there are some interesting devices starting to appear for the hobby market
that might be re-purposed for our use.

Chris MW0LLK has done some fine work on figuring out how to use ffmpeg which I believe warrants publicising, so have a look at
