I am currently enjoying reading

http://www.etsi.org/deliver/etsi_ts/102 ... 10201p.pdf

Which describes how to implement DVB-T2 both transmit and receive, the concepts can be applied to
COFDM in general.

I know this doesn't interest too many people and the concepts are already well known but it does explain why
DVB-T2 was designed in the way it was.

Thanks to the power of Twitter I have been told that some of the latest generation
of DVB-T2 dongles support the 1.7 MHz mode so something else to investigate.

It looks as if some countries (including Ireland) are looking to the 1.7 MHz mode as
a replacement for DAB.
