Ain't this just what we need for the next generation of DATV stuff ?
Amazing chip, with emphasis on open source - Field programmable RF, 3 inputs, 2 outputs, 12 bit converters, 300MHz to 3.8GHz.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b-OmCCrA3z4 - ignore intro which is in Cantonese, CEO is English
Demo board is US$299, bet a Chinese knock off hits the market within 12 months
With the availability of the new very much lower cost PCBs out of China, very tempted to do a custom DE0-nano board, or FPGA + radio on a tiny PCB
Technology limit is the 120 pin DQFN package, will need some help handling this...
http://myriadrf.org - has a base board to work with the DE0-nano.

"The Myriad – RF board is a multi-band, multi-standard RF module, based on the state of the art LMS6002D transceiver IC by Lime Microsystems. It has one RF broadband output, one RF broadband input with digital baseband interface, established via standard connectorFX10A-80P. The board also provides the user with pin headers for power supply, reference clock, analog I/Q input/output and SPI interface connections. It contains everything needed for it to be connected to all the available baseband (BB) chipsets, FPGAs or to run in an standalone mode"

Re: Field programmable RF, 300MHz - 3.8GHz
http://nuand.com/ already use that chip.

Nice mix of stuff on one board.
Any idea of $$$ ? I can't find the price...
