SR systems "Hamset -3" offer

Post by g8gtz » Fri Mar 08, 2013 9:21 am

SR systems are currently running an offer for the following items:

MPEG2 Encoder V5
MiniMOD 3 (70MHz – 2200MHz) with DVB-S and DVB-T
MiniKey controller (with keys and LEDs under the display)

This package is known as the Hamset-3 and is available at 500 euros plus 19% VAT (works out at approx £500 with P+P).

This is a very good deal for the boards, which work very well and give you instant transmit capabilities on 70cms and 23cms plus a video sender capability using DVB-T to all those Freeview boxes around the home - that should help with the XYL justification ;-)

The output is approximately 0 dBm AND NEEDS FILTERING plus power amplifiers - see the forum chat re the MHW7317 modules for 70cms.

This offer is available direct from SR systems by ordering a "Hamset -3" using the email address datv@sr-systems.de - Dealing with SR systems can be a little challenging but persevere. Documentation is somewhat lacking but can be found at:

FYI - I have no commercial ties and can offer no support - just passing the message on ;-)

Don't forget, if you want a finished unit in a shiny box - see Justin G8YTZ's advert in the latest edition of CQTV...

We have installed a Hamset-3 in the local video repeater and found it to be very much as advertised. The Tutioune software shows an excellent constellation. Setup was easy using the serial interface and a terminal program on a PC. The price to the US was 600 euros with shipping and handling.
The key layout in the MiniKey PDF is incorrect. We found it to be ENTER, LEFT, RIGHT, UP, DOWN, TX ON/OFF, BKLT ON/OFF, MENU.
