A french team (F1DOJ, F4AGC, F1DJO) developped a DATV transmitter with the software based on Linux.
I have made the transmitter and get very good results with a small laptop (Samsung NC10) using its internal webcam.
It can use à PVR150 card (with a desktop) or an USB webcam (I am using the Logitech C525 for better video with my desktop computer).
The software includes direct video with the webcam, or read preprocessed (.psk format) files based on fixed (jpg) or movind(avi), and test files for the RF IQ mixer tuning , and a test file with fixe image.
Have a look at this internet address : http://f4agc.free.fr/articles.php?lng=fr&pg=109
It could be another exciting project.
Best regards

Re: DA-TV with Linux
Ah that's a very interesting development. Are there any plans to publish the source code of mpg2psk to permit a deeper understanding of the whole system ?
