Great fun at 2nd VK3RTV DATV QSO Party

I just finished preparing an article for my local radio club newsletter about the recent 2012 VK3RTV DATV-ATV QSO Party. This second QSO party organized by Peter VK3BFG and the Melbourne ATV Group was again great fun and I got to meet (see) a nice gathering of DATVers and ATVers.
I also managed to again send the received video from my 1.2 GHz DATV transmission over the Pacific Ocean by Skype ‘screen sharing” to Peter VK3BFG who in turn uplinked my video by RF to the VK3RTV digital-ATV repeater.
The name of the article is:
TechTalk103 - The Second VK3RTV DATV/ATV QSO Party
The article PDF file can be found in the DATV Library section on the OCARC web site at:
http://www.W6ZE.org/DATV/
.
A special thanks to all the folks at BATC who provide the BATC-streaming server. Well done!! Combining DATV and SKYPE and internet and BATC-streaming allows a widespread group of participants and watchers in a QSO party. I think this event was great promotion of DATV!!
