I have now solved the problem. Running FT prog, I found that my Airnav Radar Box has an FT232 USB controller and this was upsetting it. I unplugged the Radar Box and Minituione is now running (once I told Norton to let it!).

I am having real trouble getting my Minituioner to stream to VLC, or at least decode a picture from it. I am using a test signal from my DTX1, 1249MHz, 4000ks/s. Minituione locks up with all green lamps, tight constellations, nearly full scale MER. I turn on UDP with the 127.0.0.1 port 1234 address enabled in the ini file, running VLC on the same machine. I log into the network stream and in VLC Tools/Media Information/Statistics it shows the input data stream at about 3700kb/s, but does not decode anything and there is no picture. I tried using a different machine on my network with an older copy of VLC, changing the address to 230.0.0.1, and I still get the same result. I can stream the output of Minituione to Tuoinemonitor and it relays the constellations etc., but no picture. I have used the latest version 0.1f and it is the same. I have reduced the symbol rate on the DTX1 down to 1000ks/s and still the same.
I have loaded all the software onto another, older XP machine and get the same result. I have rechecked the wiring between the tuner and USB module and cannot see anything wrong.
I have amended the FT2232 wiring, as compared to the latest diagram, so that all V3V3 pins (CN2, pins 1, 3 & 5) are connected to all VIO pins (CN2, pins 11 & 21, CN3, pins 12 & 22) because this is what the data sheet calls for when it is self-powered (ie powered from an external source on CN3, pin 3, rather than up the USB lead from the computer). I checked with FT Prog and it is correctly programmed for being self-powered.
I have tried a couple of USB cables and different USB sockets on the computer, including a really short USB lead from a card reader which is only 100mm long.
Has anyone had similar troubles and can you suggest any solutions?

This is a long shot, but click the Playback tab at the top of the VLC screen and then click Program to see if there is more than one program in the transport stream and try them all. I think those are the correct names - I don't have VLC here at the moment

I think the DTX1 can have two programs in the stream and if this has been turned on somehow, VLC may be trying to play something which the program map table says is there, but really isn't.

I had this when testing MiniTioune on a satellite channel. The program that VLC chose to play by default, of the eight available, was either blank or missing.

Hi Shawn,

As Minitioune doesn't yet decode itself the video, it cannot send picture to the TiouneMonitor, it is normal.
About VLC
try to record the TS and to read the file using VLC.
If you can read it, your problem is with the UDP setup or firewall or local network or ...?
If you cannot read this file using VLC, can you read another TS file you already have on your computer? if yes, that means that perhaps ( if it is not a DVB service that cannot be read as said Brian) you have some packets lost in the TS received. What is your %CPU power used when all is running?
it is strange that at SR4000 VLC says that the data rate is 3700 kbps because for me, at SR4000 fec3/4, TS rate is 5 529 412bps.
try to receive the UDP stream using TSreader/TSreader lite, it will inform you if you have missing packets in the stream.

use the first line of buttons to test your I2C dialog/noise. You must have zero I2C errors, if you have sometimes(rarely) a result= 1 or 2 errors it is not too much important, it can be some messages sent to the demodulator that was occupied when they arrived. If you always get errors, your I2C link is not very good.

More test could be done in future about TS.

Brian, on broadcast satellite , you can be also on a service that contents some video but you cannot see it because it is encrypted/protected, so VLC show nothing.
