I just tried v1.08
no succes on VU+ and commercials, still the distorted sound

Charles,

What do you recommend for a safe IO circuit? An opto isolator perhaps? Is 20mA @3.3V enough to drive one?

That is pretty much what I am using.

You can buy relay boards on eBay that have opto-isolated inputs for less than a tenner.

If you can drive the leds on the Express board from the FPGA you can drive an opto-isolator.

Art uses 294 ohm resistors to drive the leds on the Express board which is about 11 mA drive.
