Are you connecting your Pluto to the PC by USB ? If not why not ?

No, the Pluto is connected to a USB to Ethernet adaptor (one recommended in the DATVEasy 3.08 PDF), which is then connected to my router (which has 2 active networks, 192.168.2.x and 172.17.0.x) The Pluto has the original ip addresses of 172.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.10. The computer is on the 172.17.0 network.

Just plug the Pluto into the USB, that way the IP won’t be an issue.

You need to set the Pluto IP address in the config.txt file in the Pluto's boot partition.

[USB_ETHERNET]
ipaddr_eth = 172.17.xxx.xxx
netmask_eth = 255.255.0.0

If you set it to an unused address on your 172 .17.xxx.xxx network it will work fine. Make sure that you use the same subnet (netmask) as used on your network.

Remember to set the the Portsdown to use the same 172.17.xxx.xxx address in M3 > Pluto Config menu (15) > Set Pluto IP for Portsdown.

Ignore the following section:

[NETWORK]
hostname = pluto
ipaddr = 192.168.2.1
ipaddr_host = 192.168.2.10
netmask = 255.255.255.0

It has no relevance when using Ethernet.

I use Ethernet to drive my PD4 Pluto all the time. It's very reliable. When it's correctly configured you should be able to see the Pluto's webpage when you put its Ethernet IP address into your browser address bar.

"Just plug the Pluto into the USB, that way the IP won’t be an issue." - Thanks, I'll give that a try.

Clive, Pluto works fine with my PD4. I'm trying to set it up to with with VMix, DATVEasy on my PC, so I'm confused by your suggestions as the PD4 isn't in use in that configuration

Sorry, I didn't go back through all the messages and went by the title.

Perhaps you should consider starting a new thread tilted by your actual enquiry?

How to complicate things ! Why such an odd configuration. My Pluto is on my home network and gets an IP via DHCP. You can set this in the config.txt if you have to but why mess with things. I just associated the pluto Mac address on my router and it stays fixed. It doesn't matter what the network IP domain is if set up this way. The only thing you might need to do is open some ports in the local network if they are closed and ensure the PC firewall isn't blocking it.
