whooow!
I find very splendid the movie, the pcb... and the actor :) !
A very good idea useful for everyone.
BATC has a very good team. I think that many OM will be happy with their kit.

Bravo!

By popular demand, the kit will include a socket for the 74HC10.

Both the Eardatek and Sharp NIMs can be used without any changes being made on the pcb. The pin differences are mutually no-connect.

The Samsung NIM would require an adapter board.

Hello,

A new NIM could be used with the next version of MiniTioune/PipoTioune: LG TDQX-S001F
Just a little modification on the BATC MiniTiouner pcb.

I have just finished assembling the very nice kit today (worked first time and no smoke). I have also installed it in a metal box from Maplins that seems to complement the DTX-1 very well in terms of size and appearance.

The on board regulator bolts have been extended downwards to support the RH end of the board and to sink some heat. They seem pretty cool.

In case (ooh) anyone else would like to use the same box, their ref number is N77AL http://www.maplin.co.uk/p/hammond-1455n ... sure-n77al It is actually by Hammond and seems to be easily available from Farnell etal under the ref 1455N1602

Thanks Graham - been looking for a suitable box for it.
Still building mine. Snapped a pin off the DIL socket but I'm sure I have a low profile spare one kicking around.

On a slightly different tack - I wonder whether all these NIMs have the same command set? Jean-Pierre tells me the Eardatek commands are under NDA. Fair enough. But does anyone have a legally shareable data sheet on ANY of the other NIMs? I am thinking of doing an add-on board for the DTX1 to make a fully digital repeater but we need to know how to control the tuner....

In hope

Laurence :)

All the tuners we have been using are using very similar demodulator chips so all are under NDA.

There are linux drivers on the web for cards which use these chips which you can glean the basic information to make them work.
for example STB0899 and STV090x:

But they are not very helpful for any specifics!
