Hi All,
As I am not too far off having DATV gear for both 5.7 and 10 GHz can someone tell me
what frequency the centre of activity is for simplex operation? (I need to tune the filters).

Hi Charles
Well it's not very well defined but this RSGB link will tell you all there is:
http://rsgb.org/main/operating/band-plans/
Good luck,
Dave.

Re: 5.7 Ghz and 10 GHz centre of activity ?
Hi Dave,
I looked before asking, as usual the RSGB bandplans are about as useful as a chocolate teapot.
I suspect the 5.7 Ghz gear will end up being used on the satellites as the Septics are building some
5.7 GHz up / 10 Ghz down ones and with my hole in the ground location I am never going to work anyone
on DATV simplex.

Re: 5.7 Ghz and 10 GHz centre of activity ?
I agree with Charles ideally we need a common frequency that we can find activity on.
The RSGB bandplan doesnt really help with digi-ATV. So maybe the BATC could come up with some guidelines as to where we should all operate.
Afterall its not like we have hundreds of transmissions occurring all at once on any of the bands. well maybe during a contest???
And knowing the centre of activity home based stations might be a lot more active instead of having to go up hills etc.

Re: 5.7 Ghz and 10 GHz centre of activity ?
Hi Mark and Charles
Yes all understood. It might be an appropriate topic for the BATC Committee to discuss.
I will put it to them at the next committee meeting, due before the BATC Convention early next month.
I will report back,
Dave.
