ODROID PTT control of DATV Express

I may have posted this before:

There are several "foot switch" vendors that market a USB foot switch that will send any ASCII code that you program it with. If we had the option of say pressing the "spacebar" or "rhtCTRL" key to force PTT, then also have USB keyboard entry to do this, we can not only provide easier ways to key the TX, but allow the DATV Express Board to be keyed externally for use as a repeater exciter. As it is right now, the TX has to be manually keyed.

Any thoughts or ideas about my proposal?

I use a USB foot switch to key my iaxRpt application on my laptop to access my Allstar nodes remotely and it works flawlessly every time.
