3.4 GHz PLL LNB mounting

Quite a few people have purchased the Titanium C1W PLL LNB from Amazon or ebay to receive 3.4 GHz repeaters.

It turns out that these are designed for circular operation and this picture shows that the LNB will need to be mounted rotated by 45 degrees on the LNB mounting bracket to make sure the probes line up to be horizontal and vertical.

Tests have shown if the LNB is mounted with the heatsink fins horizontal or vertical the signal is 3 dB down on mounting it at 45 degrees. BTW when mounted 180 degrees off it is 20 dB down.

Also, the front probe is activated when 12v is applied which may be useful to know when out /p and only 12v is available.

Note GB3HV and GB3KM are horizontal polarity and GB3NV is vertical.
