I am within days of going live on DATV with 10 watts into an Alford slot (temporary antenna)
from IO90ST. In fact I have already been radiating a test signal. I am just waiting delivery of
some heatshrink sleeving so I can make the final lead up.
I was looking at the RSGB band plan for 23 cms and all I can find is ATV repeater
input and output frequencies. What is the recommended frequency for DTV simplex operation?
There has been some interest locally in receiving DATV so I thought of providing an on demand
test signal so that people can configure their Freesat boxes in the Worthing area but first I need
to know where best to park the transmitter. I have enough cooling on the PAs to allow continuous
operation and my transmitter is frequency locked to the GPS constellation.

Re: Preferred simplex working frequency
Hi Charles,
in the North West the most common QRG for simplex DATV is 1280 MHz followed very closely by 1285 MHz. As it happens, these two QRGs are also commonly used in France for DATV.

Re: Preferred simplex working frequency
Hi Darren,
1280 it shall be then. I am using a Mitsubishi power brick
and the lower the frequency the better!
