Hi All,

Please share you modded/converted Minitiouner pictures and show everyone how you added your 2nd usb port. I like the pics and I'm sure it will give others ideas on mounting, enclosure modding for the 2nd port, etc.

Parts arrived, waiting for the 74HC10 chip.

Is there enough headroom to socket the daughter board chip? Thanks.

Hi All,
My version, without expensive module but with the same FTDI-chip

Costs about half compared to the FTDI module version, but more work...
Further info, schematics & layout available.

Nice work. I considered that but the problem is most people don't want to solder SMD chips. Perhaps we could get them pre-made?

Hi,

The BATC PCB designed by F6DZP & G0MJW was excellent.
I chose to lower the fuse holder and fit C1 capacitor on its side.
This enabled me to use connectors and capacitor that I already had.
It fitted into the recommended blue case.

Here is another image from back in 2019 that shows how it was supposed to fit. The chocolate has since been consumed.

Clearance should be fine if you use a tall enough header.

I have long since forgotten where I got the header. Here is where it goes.

And extra holes for the USB and supporting screw. If you don't use a support if it works loose it could short out on the fuse, so don't risk it and use a support. I use a bit of tapped 6mm bar section, you could equally use 1/4 inch angle with nuts and bolts.

Room for an extra passenger....two inputs can be used in more than one way
Here in VK, working on the MiniTiouner Spyverter Combo, for 6 Metre DX (Can't see why 10M wouldn't work)
The Spyverter fits snuggly into the case, works great and so far no noticeable MER degradation
The hardline has an extra use, as a handle to pull the board out if it's a bit stuborn

I've tried Ham it up, Spyverter Mini, and the Aliexpress Knock Offs all worked well except the Spyverter Knock Off
PISSWORD is best bang for buck which is an AliExpress Ham It Up Knock Off, Ham It Up is too big to fit in the case, though has 1dB extra signal
Obviously the LO is not quite as clean as Mike's upconverter, but am getting 45/50 MER, from the Modulator, I've tried filters, makes no difference
My front panel is not quite as Sexy as Justin's lovely job

Has anyone else done this, love to hear your ideas
