Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Hi All,
New Open Tuner is out. Thanks to the help from Brian (G4EWJ) Open Tuner now supports both TS channels. Its been a big rewrite, but it also supports the option to select either VLC or FFMPEG decoding and viewing. The FFMPEG option allows for h266 decoding. On a Minitiouner Pro variant with two usb ports it should work out of the box, but you can also add a 2nd channel to the BATC V2 Minitiouner. Either DIY the addon, or purchase one of the daughterboards in the Batc shop.

Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Morning Tom,
Not sure if its just me but when using FFMPEG instead of VLC audio on H265 is stuttering with H264 its seems fine. If I switch to VLC then audio is fine for both H264 or H265. Strangely if I use your copy of FFplay (no added cmd's) to play the UDP stream all if fine, nice audio and video ?i
My laptop is a i5 10th gen and a RTX2060 and as far as I can see OT is not using HW decode.

Wow, what a leap in functionality! Really excellent usability and it decoded my own H266 too
I also have stuttering on received audio H266 (mine or others, an aged I7 i7-4770K @3.5Ghz) is all I have tested on so far.....
Thanks
Gareth

Looks like forum doesn't like the extra slash, here is the correct link:

Hi Tom,
External Tools excellent edition even I can use it.
I setup link to mpv-vcceasy player tuner 1 works very well on H266.
Then modified the heading saved and ended up with multiple entries in external tools.
Rebooted OT all extra entries cleared.
I missed the Disable TS/Video on Tuner 2 another useful addition.
I’ll keep looking to see what else I have missed in OT.

Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Martin, if I understand correctly what you have done is make OT launch MPV by default? That is something I would like to emulate, and so, if I haven't misunderstood I'll give that a go myself later.
What I personally would like Tom to offer is the ability to option MPV to run inside OT in its main window. And make UDP out optionally sticky, I keep forgetting to reset it!
I know a lot of work has been and is being done with ffmpeg to get it running smoothly, and I am of course grateful for those endeavours, but MPV just seems to plain work properly straight "out of the box"....
Thanks for the amazing work Tom!
