Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Hi Brian,
Thats a good start, I'm going to need the terminal log to see whats going on. Can you start it and share the ftid section (in the beginning when you just connected).

Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Yes, there it shows the problem. The B port for your daughterboard is not enabled as a fifo port. Are you using the template, or did you directly change the USB descriptor strings?
On that screenshot ftdi device 2 and 3 (which is your new module) should show true next to fifo.
Its detecting it properly now, but your module isn't configure 100% yet.
- sorry for slow replies, I'm busy travelling for work.

Tom,
Understand, the module was programed wih the file on your site, do you have to change any parameters before applying template and then program.

Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
If I were to solder the FTDI board direct to the daughter board from the BATC will that mean I cannot then programme or re-programme the FTDI chip? I was considering reducing the number of mechanical connections but if it's then not programmable I have made myself a little paper weight Thanks. I also seem to have every 0.1 inch header combination imaginable. Save the ones I need of course...
Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Hi Basil,
Yes you can still program the chip, but that would make it a problem if you had to replace the the 74HC10 chip on daughter pcb, I used headers and a chip socket, same as the original usb module and chip.
I am still trying to sort mine out as no second ts video, also not sure if it has to be 74HC10 most chips have other part numbers on.

Re: Open Tuner 0.7 - Dual Tuner/FFMPEG, etc
Thanks Brian, I guess I'll have to be patient and get some headers in, since my account with RS Components stopped being honoured with free postage I find getting small orders in a timely manner is back to using Ebay, where any old junk is likely to be on sale. Good luck with yours, often the chip numbers are relatively innocuous, stuff like lead free tinning and temperature ranges, original batch quantities, packaging, blah blah.
