Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Hi,
I have two laptops in same LAN, HP for RX and Asus for TX. Using Minitiouner Pro V2 with both TS activated. How to stream second TS to Asus?
From Scan & Tioune it works, I'm able to stream Asus / VLC.

Re: Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Oolallaa I made it. Had to put Asus IP & port 5678 and tick the U in OT. In Asus / VLC open media from udp://@0.0.0.0:5678
Now I can put Rx to OBS and sent it.

Re: Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Hi
I am trying to send from opentuner 0.9 a stream to another PC on my network. Attached is a screenshot of how I can see the steam on the same PC but failing to find the parameters to stream to the networked PC. I know 127.0.0.1 needs to be changed to ip address. Which one and what are the settings for receiving the stream in VLC?
Also trying to do send via udp from OBS Studio to a networked PC via recording mode but cant seem to receive that either?
Help appreciated.
Thank you

Re: Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Hi, set the IP address of the PC you wish to send the stream to in Open Tuner and the port (say port 5000)
As you know, set U as marked in Open Tuner. If you don't know the IP address of the PC you want to stream to use something like Advanced IP Scanner (free) to scan your network and find the relevant PC's IP address.
At the PC you want to stream *TO* open VLC and under Open Network Stream set the network URL to the SAME PC you are streaming TO. And set the same port number in the format udp://@***.***.***.**:5000 where the asterisks are the IP address of the PC you are streaming to and has VLC open. Kind of counter intuitive to me, but that is what works for me....
You may need to manually open the relevant ports if they are not already open in the Windows Firewall. Careful there....
Be sure the PC's are on the SAME actual network and one is not on a subnet, that's more complicated and beyond my IP knowledge.

Re: Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
Hi Chris
Thank you for your reply.
I now have udp working from opentuner 0.9 to another PC on my network.
Your explanation was great - eventually I found that one PC was on a public network and the other was on a private network so undiscoverable! Changed network type and worked.
Now to try with obs-studio.

Re: Streaming to another Pc/VLC?
You are very welcome and I'm pleased it worked for you. Frankly I find it a bit fickle, if a TX to the bird stops and restarts OT or VLC stop talking and VLC needs to be made to open the stream again, or at least it does here. I am erring to using Windows Remote Desktop to see OT from another PC as that would also give me full control of the settings in Open Tuner as well.
Unfortunately, despite my best efforts, my DATV Windows 10 Pro PC is not seen by two other PC's using Win 7 Pro, via Windows Remote Desktop. Others are... Bloody computers!
