Pico Minitioune problem

Post by OE8PCK » Thu Apr 04, 2024 9:54 am

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this problem.
The PICO blinks OK. The Minitioune signal runs OK with both screens working I can change the frequencies ok.
BUT after about 2 minutes the stream just cuts off and the Minitioune freezes until I turn the Minitioune off and then I can restart open tuner.
Colin G4EML has given me a couple of hints regarding VLC setup etc. but I am still having the same problems. I have even used another PC but have the same problem. At the moment I am at a loss as what to try next. Has anyone had this problem or can make a suggestion what i should check. The PICO firmware is v 10. When it works the picture is super and no sign of any problems.

Seems simple but try changing the USB lead. I had a similar problem and it was the USB lead. Not saying the system is 100% but it is much better now...

Note that this is GB3NQ transmitting on 1316Mhz 1080 HD and 1318MHz 480 LD (2000ksr & 333ksr)

Thankyou for your prompt reply.
I have attached the file of the OPEN TUNER which shows the tuner starting until it stops working.
I am afraid I do not understand it, but perhaps someone can see what is going wrong

Many thanks.

Hi Paul,

The log file doesn't show anything worthwhile that would indicate why its freezing.

Can you try this new version please: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/j9vyrw3a ... 4k1o3&dl=0

And update your picotuner to 0.11

Let me know what you find. the logfile will be stored in the logs folder

Hi Tom, I am back from holiday and now I have got the Log where the RX stops working after a minute or so.
I do hope you can see what I am doing wrong.

Have you "zipped" it up with maximum compression? Can you put it on your own server or elsewhere for Tom to download it, rather than sending it direct?

Thanks for the tip. I have now zipped the log. I hope that TOM can do something with it.
The program works fine and then just cuts off.
