CAT 23 - Latest Information

Post by G8GKQ » Thu Feb 09, 2023 4:18 pm

CAT 23 will be a 2-part event. The first part will be an in-person meeting at the Midland Air Museum in Coventry on Sunday 6 August. The second part will be online, probably in October.

The "Convention for Amateur Television 2023 Part 1" will be held at the Midland Air Museum http://www.midlandairmuseum.co.uk/ Coventry, commencing at 10 am on Sunday 6 August 2022. There will be a bring-and-buy, a show-and-tell display and a test-and-fixit facility for any Amateur TV Equipment. The venue will remain open until 4 pm. The main focus of the day is to meet-up and exchange ideas about Amateur Television. Details of ticketing will be posted here nearer the date; admission will include full access to the museum's exhibits (numerous aircraft including a Vulcan).

A function room (The Grey Lady Suite) has been booked for an informal dinner the (Saturday) evening before at the Old Mill, Baginton. Attendees will be requested to pre-order from the menu, and pay their individual bills on the night. More details to follow - but please plan to be there!

A limited number of rooms are available at the Old Mill which can be booked on this website: https://www.chefandbrewer.com/pubs/west ... ill/hotel/. Alternative accomodation may be available at the Oak: https://www.pubanddining.co.uk/oak-bagi ... ay-with-us, the Dakota: https://the-dakota.co.uk/ or the Citrus Hotel Coventry https://www.citrushotelcoventry.co.uk/.

Hope to see you all there

CAT 23 - Latest Information

Post by G8GKQ » Thu Aug 03, 2023 11:50 am

All the plans are in place for CAT 23 this Sunday. Here are the details:

For those of you who have booked a dinner place on Saturday evening at the Old Mill, we'll meet in the Grey Lady Suite upstairs at 7:15 pm for 8. Many of us will be in the bar beforehand, so even if you haven't managed to book a dinner place please join us there.

The Museum postcode (for your SatNav) is CV3 4FR. Doors will open at 10 am on Sunday. We will be in the Robin Hangar at the far end of the museum site as in previous years. There will be a short short speech and Prizegiving by the Chairman at noon, and we ask that you join us for a Convention photo straight afterwards.

The Museum cafe will be serving refreshments including Sandwiches and Toasties.

We will start packing up at 4 pm to clear the site by 5 pm.

Look forward to meeting you all there

Dave, G8GKQ

Hi Roger

There were no lectures at CAT 23 Part 1. It was meet-and-greet, bring-and-buy, show-and-tell and test-and-fixit type of event.

CAT 23 Part 2, with a full lecture progarmme online (only) will be on Saturday 21 October. Recordings will be online soon afterwards.
